Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating)

While excessive sweating isn’t dangerous, having moist or clammy hands, sweaty feet, wet underarms, and problem perspiration on your head/face and groin can have a huge impact on your business or personal life. Fortunately, a number of treatments are available to stop sweating, ranging from medical-grade antiperspirants, to Botox® injections, and, if necessary, referral for surgery. A consultation with Dr. Ken Chisholm can help you discover what is right for you. Costs vary depending upon treatment.

Your questions:

Can Botox® stop heavy sweating under the arms?
Yes! Dr. Chisholm will inject Botox into the affected areas using a series of very fine needles. The Botox works by blocking the release of acetylcholine, which activates the sweat glands. Many people have already found relief to this problem by using Botox. This same method also works well around the face, head, and hands.

How long before I’ll see results?
On average, within one week you’ll notice a difference.

How long will it last?
On average, between 4 – 7 months.

What’s the cost?
That depends on the amount of Botox required for you. If you have been diagnosed with hyperhidrosis by a physician, your treatment may be covered by your drug/health plan.
